Well deserved!
Tuesday, 31 August 2010
Many of you met Colleen, ORIGO’s office manager for the USA, back in the Xmas of 2008. You might recall, she flew over with Sandy to celebrate with us that December. Since then, she has married Bill Mrazik and has had a baby boy to create a “his, mine and our” family of seven children. Although this is quite an achievement in itself, it simply was not enough for Colleen. She continued to work long and smart for ORIGO, setting high standards while happily accepting more and more responsibilities.

Last year, this commitment earned her the unofficial title of “ORIGO junkie”. Effective September 1, Colleen has earned the official title of Finance and Operations Manager. Congratulations Colleen for all the hard work you did to earn this promotion. I am sure your colleagues will agree that it is well deserved!

Celebrations.....
Wednesday, 11 August 2010
Kevin Young (senior marketing editor) celebrated his 5-year anniversary with ORIGO on Sunday 8 August. Over this time, Kev has contributed to many projects, large and small, and moved with us from our Kedron office. We look forward to another great 5 years.

Saturday 21 August is not only the Australian Federal Election but it is also the day Kevin and his fiancé Heidi tie the knot. With family and friends flying in from near and far, it is set to be a wonderful celebration of this new stage in their lives. Hoping the day is fine and everything runs smoothly for you both and that you enjoy the celebration and the well deserved honeymoon. Congratulations!!!

As you may have heard, Ben Kleverlaan from our multimedia department is moving on to a new position closer to home. Since commencing with ORIGO in November 2008, he has worked long and hard on Slate and Slate products, the websites and online shops, host server transfer and general maintenance. He finishes up on Friday 13 August. You will be sorely missed by us all Ben and we wish you all the best in your future position.

Thankyou

Last week Vikki Lange attended the Origo Australia Sales conference. Prior to her departure she left a card with the following message for everyone:

"Origo family down under,
Thank you all for making me feel at home. I am so proud to be working for a company that is innovative, creative and thoughtful. And, I'm just talking about the people! My hope is that I can bring back all that I've learned to Origo USA to make us an even stronger company. As you know, I'm Super Excited to be a part of this company. Looking forward to seeing you all next year."

Thank you James and Family!

ORIGO US had the wonderful opportunity to have James work and live with his family in the US for the past six months.  James brought a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and positive feelings to our team which is proving to help ORIGO US have a record setting year.  His many marketing meetings and professional development sessions helped spread the word of ORIGO in many new areas of the country.  We were fortunate to have the help of Michelle in the office during their stay.  She is a great asset to the company and we look forward to having her back again someday. We are sure the children took back many stories to tell about their stay here. We will all miss their smiling faces.  Thanks to James for taking the wheel on the ORIGO US bus and driving us full-steam ahead. It was a great experience for us all and we are excited about the success of ORIGO.

Thank you from
The ORIGO US Team

ORIGO welcomes our new General Manager
Friday, 11 June 2010
Mr. Tony Ivers has signed on as GM for ORIGO Australia. Tony has had previous roles as General Manager/National Sales and Marketing Manager in corporations such as PMP Printing and News Limited. He has many noteworthy achievements in his impressive resume but one that stands out to me was his successful launch of the Melbourne Storm into AFL heartland. Tony is clearly a very talented and well-connected individual with a proven record of achieving results. For this reason, I will be endeavouring to use his skills elsewhere as we aim to grow the company into other markets.

I will be moving out of my office and into a shared space with Calvin in order to give Tony the “hot” seat. His first day with ORIGO will be June 21. On this day or shortly after, he will no doubt address you all and tell you a little more about himself and his aspirations for ORIGO’s future.

I am truly excited to have Tony on the bus and as I said to him, I think he changes ORIGO’s future from bright to blinding!

Welcome Rob Nickerson

Rob joins our US team from Jefferson County (JeffCo) Public schools in Denver where he has been using our product and ideas for many years. He has a new joint role as a Resource/Support Advisor, which involves work as a RA for the Denver greater area and as a provider of Professional Learning modules to potential clients and existing customers around the USA. Like Anita in the past, he brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm. I know the US team look forward to working with him in the future.

Happy 50th Beth!
Tuesday, 08 June 2010
Wow! My sister has just turned half a century today! I guess that means she is middle aged! Well – maybe not. As I just turned 40, I am reminded of the French proverb, “If 40 is the old age of youth. Fifty is the youth of old age.” So she still has plenty to look forward to yet.

Happy Birthday Beth. Love you. XX
