Last week Vikki Lange attended the Origo Australia Sales conference. Prior to her departure she left a card with the following message for everyone: "Origo family down under, Thank you all for making me feel at home. I am so proud to be working for a company that is innovative, creative and thoughtful. And, I'm just talking about the people! My hope is that I can bring back all that I've learned to Origo USA to make us an even stronger company. As you know, I'm Super Excited to be a part of this company. Looking forward to seeing you all next year." Vikki Lange

ORIGO US had the wonderful opportunity to have James work and live with his family in the US for the past six months. James brought a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and positive feelings to our team which is proving to help ORIGO US have a record setting year. His many marketing meetings and professional development sessions helped spread the word of ORIGO in many new areas of the country. We were fortunate to have the help of Michelle in the office during their stay. She is a great asset to the company and we look forward to having her back again someday. We are sure the children took back many stories to tell about their stay here. We will all miss their smiling faces. Thanks to James for taking the wheel on the ORIGO US bus and driving us full-steam ahead. It was a great experience for us all and we are excited about the success of ORIGO.
Thank you from
The ORIGO US Team |

Congratulations to Beth, Brett and his design team for the tremendous work they did on the ORIGO Big Book series. We recently received notice that they are shortlisted for the Primary Teaching and Learning category in this year’s National Awards for Excellence in Educational Publishing. The results will be known in early August. We will keep you posted.

ORIGO welcomes our new General Manager |
|

Mr. Tony Ivers has signed on as GM for ORIGO Australia. Tony has had previous roles as General Manager/National Sales and Marketing Manager in corporations such as PMP Printing and News Limited. He has many noteworthy achievements in his impressive resume but one that stands out to me was his successful launch of the Melbourne Storm into AFL heartland.
Tony is clearly a very talented and well-connected individual with a proven record of achieving results. For this reason, I will be endeavouring to use his skills elsewhere as we aim to grow the company into other markets.
I will be moving out of my office and into a shared space with Calvin in order to give Tony the “hot” seat. His first day with ORIGO will be June 21. On this day or shortly after, he will no doubt address you all and tell you a little more about himself and his aspirations for ORIGO’s future.
I am truly excited to have Tony on the bus and as I said to him, I think he changes ORIGO’s future from bright to blinding!

Rob joins our US team from Jefferson County (JeffCo) Public schools in Denver where he has been using our product and ideas for many years. He has a new joint role as a Resource/Support Advisor, which involves work as a RA for the Denver greater area and as a provider of Professional Learning modules to potential clients and existing customers around the USA. Like Anita in the past, he brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm. I know the US team look forward to working with him in the future.

Wow! My sister has just turned half a century today! I guess that means she is middle aged! Well – maybe not. As I just turned 40, I am reminded of the French proverb, “If 40 is the old age of youth. Fifty is the youth of old age.” So she still has plenty to look forward to yet.
Happy Birthday Beth. Love you. XX

A warm welcome to Denise and Maura |
|
Tuesday, 18 May 2010 |
Denise Floyd and Maura Donlon have joined our RA Team in the U.S. Denise just started in the newly created role of Resource Assistant. She will be adding much needed support to our sales team in the field by working on the pre-sale portion of the sales cycle. She comes into ORIGO with over 15 years experience in education sales and really knows how important her role is to the sales team. Denise is also opening up our RFP division which are district and state requests for math supplements. We do not know her well enough after two days to give her a nickname but that is sure to come as we get to know her.
Maura Donlon has accepted the Resource Advisor position in Maryland and Virginia and starts June 1st. She also has many years of experience in educational and publishing sales and is sure to make a fast name for herself in her states. We are looking forward to have her travel to St. Charles for the first few days of her training otherwise known as bootcamp.

This Friday (May 14) will be Eleanor's last day with ORIGO. Eleanor has been studying part-time this year and has landed a job in a studio with more of a web focus.
Eleanor began working with us in June of 2008 (back at Kedron). During her time with ORIGO she has played an integral part in several key projects. El was the sole designer on the GO Maths NSW Staticware project – a mammoth task with countless illustrations, diagrams and pages. The Number Case was another big project that was all El's work – she designed everything from the cardboard mailer to the labels on each pack of cards. El's interest in multi-media was utilised when she worked with Ben Train to take the Fundamentals Series to an online format.
These are a few of the projects she has worked on but her contributions include Groundworks materials, catalogue covers, brochures, Flash advertising, Big Books Teaching Tools, ORIGOmath and GO Maths reprints. El has definitely left her mark on ORIGO.
Thanks El for contributing to the visual landscape of ORIGO for the last couple of years, we'll miss you. Good luck in your new job.
